PARENTAGE/BLOODLINES

In simple terms, 'Progeny' is the bloodline/parentage. The bloodline should include parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, and so on. In all pedigree dogs the generational certificate gives you the 'family tree' for the dog. Each and every puppy that is whelped through the GVP Dam / Stud comes with a guaranteed co-efficient mating (how close they are to family, the higher the figure is the more likely there will be health problems as the higher % denotes closer to family lines and a red flag warning for GVP).

The KC average recommended co-eff score for this breed is 4.7% with a max of 12.5%. The GVP is always ensures the co-eff score is well within the KC recommendation and ideally as low as possible. We would NEVER exceed the KC average baseline. Our current highest co-eff is 2.3%.

HEALTH TESTING

We take health testing very seriously and each and every single Dam or Sire we breed from has to have passed its health testing before breeding. At The GVP we test for the following, all of these health tests can be found on the KC website under the dogs pedigree name:

Co-efficient scoring (mating compatibility) - never to exceed KC recommended average
Hip Tested
Elbow Tested
Full BVA Eye Tested
Cerebellar Ataxia
Sperm count tested (studs)
pre-mating infection testing

TEMPERAMENT

Along with a suite of health testing, we always ensure every single dog we breed from has the 'right' temperament for the future of the lines. The GVP would never breed from a dog that we felt did not have the 'right' temperament. What we can guarantee is fantastic as we are so picky, each and every single GVP dog will become your best friend for life, respect commands respect.
